District Ceremony of Investiture

To all Masters-Elect and Worshipful Brothers,

You are cordially and fraternally invited to participate in the Otsego-Schoharie Masonic District Ceremony of Investiture to be held at Bump Tavern in the Farmers Museum in Cooperstown, NY at 5 p.m. on May 22nd. As I’m sure you all know, Grand Lodge requires each new incoming Master be invested with the Secrets of the Chair prior to his installation, but recycling Past Masters can and are encouraged to participate as well. All actual Past Masters are requested to attend. This year’s guest speaker is R:.W:. Richard S. Morley, Junior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York. Because of this we are opening up this years ceremony to the Brothers of the Deleware District as well. Following the ceremony we will retire to Otsego Lodge for an open dinner prepared for us by the ladies of the Eastern Star. Bring your Ladies and guests to this part of the event. On the menu is ham, mixed vegetables, a potato dish, rolls, fruit cup, various non-alcoholic beverages and lemon lust for dessert. Cost for the meal is $15.00. As in the past, they will provide a delightful vegetarian option with advance request. Send me your checks made payable to "The District Association" no later than May 15th so that I can give the ladies a head count. This year we will only be reserving meals for those who have paid in advance because last year many people said they were coming and did not but we still had to pay for the expense of their meals. You can let me know if you will be joining us for dinner or just coming to the Ceremony. Outgoing Masters are requested to accompany the incoming Masters-elect and bring a Bible, Square and Compasses. We will have plain white aprons available but if you have your own special apron you may bring that instead.
